Mapa ng Pamayanan

 One of the things that a young learner is taught during the first days of classes is how to describe his or her community. Being able to describe and locate one's community on a map will help the student get to know his or her sorrounding better. 

One of the best tools in determining the location of a community is the map. A map is a flat representation of an actual location. It can tell you what buildings and other important places can be found in your community as well as show you its location. 

A map is made up of symbols. These represent the features (places, objects) in the real world. Some maps may use different or uncommon symbols so cartographers (map makers) often include a list of symbols at the side of the map. This is known as legend. 

Because the world is round, it is a little difficult to tell which is left or right, up or down when you are holding a map. Luckily, the map also features a compass rose. This tells you which direction to go to get from one place on the map to another.
