It can tell you what buildings and other important places can be found in your community as well as show you its location. A map is made up of symbols . These represent the features (places, objects) in the real world. Some maps may use different or uncommon symbols so cartographers (map makers) often include a list of symbols at the side of the map. This is known as legend . Because the world is round, it is a little difficult to tell which is left or right, up or down when you are holding a map. Luckily, the map also features a compass rose . This tells you which direction to go to get fr
